What I did instead, I started at 6/8 = 3/4. Then I just added decimals in between for example, I used 6.1/8 = 0.7625. Next I said why not try 6.99/8 = 0.87375 which I knew was bigger than quantity B. So I went with the answer D which was the correct answer. Is this a method that I could use during the GRE?
I followed a different approach. I multiplied both sides by 8.
A becomes x and B becomes 8 x 0.85 = 6.8
Since x can be anywhere between 6 and 7, answer is D.
