I don't think a direct answer is possible here as there is no clue mentioned for whether the film is antedated or post-dated. How did you reach the conclusion that she wasn't active during film's presence.
However, we can reach the answer through the options. Represented and portrayed depict the opposite of what we want. Clocked and renewed, though applicable, don't create synonymous sentences to other options. So, we can say antedated or preceded.

It looks like you've answered your own question! Process of elimination is probably the best strategy here. "Preceded" and "antedated" are the only words that make sense in context.

The shift word "though" tells us that there is some contrast between the feministic implications of the film and the filmmaker's involvement in feminist politics.

"Preceded" and "antedated" fit that shift by creating a contrast in time: even though the film is feminist, the filmmaker was not yet involved in feminist politics.
