You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Very helpful. Videos were great; I watched all of them. Flash cards for vocabulary helped a lot. The practice problems and tests gave me a lot of great practice.

Magoosh helped me slow down and isolate specific skills that I needed to improve. It was also great for building vocabulary. I now have a verbal score that will allow me to apply to competitive English PhD programs.

The lectures taught me very useful strategies and the plethora of practice problems helped drill those strategies into my mind.

When I started studying for the GRE I was comfortable with the verbal section. My main struggle was the quantitative section because, like many students, I hadn't used GRE level math in many years. The videos helped me remember many of the lessons I had learned in the past while enabling me to think the way the test makers think. I'm very happy with my math score and can thank the videos and numerous practice problems for getting me there. The verbal practice problems and video explanations built on the knowledge I already had. Some of the vocab or the reading comp passages on the real test were difficult and contained some words I wasn't ready for, but I had a comfort level after preparing with Magoosh that allowed me to stay calm and think through each problem.

The numerous emails Magoosh sends also provide a personal touch. They are encouraging and informative. They made me feel like I wasn't in it alone!

In every way. The vocabulary flash cards and strategy explanations for reading comprehension really helped whittle down my time, while the video explanations were the only way I could really improve my math score. I needed the constant reminders of how to look at each type of question, and even reviews of more basic mathematical concepts.

For Quant, I knew that I had committed silly mistakes and didn't brush up some concepts such as probability, counting and statistics. This is where Magoosh helped me a lot. For I spent some time going through the lessons and then dived into taking practise tests. After every test, I analysed my performance and improved iteratively. Therefore stats provided by Magoosh proved to be immensely helpful. Furthermore, I went through summary part of most of the quant lessons. These are especially useful while revising 2-3 days before the actual test.

For Verbal, I memorised all Basic + Common + Advanced words (around 1000 words I guess). Importantly, I always used to read words in context (http://magoosh.com/gre/2012/how-to-read-in-context-for-the-gre/). Moreover, this helped me immensely in RCs, as I was able to quickly grasp the content of a paragraph and create a mental snapshot. Meanwhile, I saw all the verbal video lessons and started taking practise tests immediately. Especially for verbal, after every practise test, I saw text lessons for every verbal question and tried to learn the approach that has been used to solve that type of question. This helped me avoid common pitfalls.

Magoosh helped me by providing a clear day by day study schedule. I chose to prepare for one month. It was intense, but doable. The practice problems were invaluable and very similar to things I encountered on the GRE. Having video and text explanations to every problem is something I was not able to find with any other test preparation material.

The tips from the verbal reasoning videos and writing videos were my primary concern. I watched some math videos, but didn't focus on them as I was already confident with that material.

It gave me plenty of practice questions to familiarize myself with the material as well as a good structure for studying.

Practice verbal sections

YES!!! Magoosh was a really great help and it definitely helped me feel more prepared for the test. With more practice I could have done even better on the Quant I think but I am happy with my overall score and think it's not bad.

The lesson videos were helpful; however, the questions are what really boosted my math score from a 152 to a 157. I took over 500 questions between the last time I took the GRE and this time.

Adequately prepared me for the GRE, I was looking to improve the math more than anything as I'm going into computer science and I did way better than I expected!

Magoosh provides more than 1000 gre practice questions which serve as a major confidence booster on the test day. Strategies on TC and RC by Chris helped me to solve the questions quickly and more importantly eliminate the wrong answer choices. Magoosh is definately the best gre prep product available.

Practice tests

Magoosh helped me with the math section. I have terrible number sense, so the lessons and videos explaining how to do each question were extremely helpful.

I listened to the lessons again and again. I have done practice tests and watched the video explanations. that was sufficient to strengthen my concepts

The math questions of Magoosh have more traps than that of GRE test. It helped me to avoid all the traps in the real test. For Chinese students, it is the traps rather than hard questions that would prevent them from 170.

I needed a lot of help in the Verbal Section, and Magoosh came to my rescue. With a month's preparation, I believe it is not possible to drastically improve your RC ability. But as far as TC and SE are concerned. Magoosh proved extraordinary. Within a few weeks of prep, hunting for context clues to arrive at the correct answer became effortless. I could actually feel myself confident while marking answers on the test !

The flashcards app deserves a special mention. Prompt replies to queries, authentic mock test-taking experience (Even the real Powerprep doesn't include the experimental section, which Magoosh does), and an awesome blog to supplement my studies - all were pivotal in getting a good score on D-Day.
