You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The videos helped break down the concepts in a way that I could better grasp the material by using different colors and introducing concepts in a manner that was not overwhelming. The ability to customize practice question was also a huge help.

Magoosh was great because I felt like it challeneged me from the beginning. The videos were especially helpful because I got to analyze the questions like a creator of the exam.

Simply, the size of the practice sets. Doing 500+ quant and verbal questions gave me a solid feel for the scope of the test. The ability to do as many exam simulations as I pleased also gave me a good sense of the pace required for the GRE. Without the timed practice, I would not have been able to finish the GRE sections in the allotted time.

I used Magoosh to build my entire plan of attack for the GRE. I began the studying process with no prior knowledge of what was going to be on the test so I was basically starting from scratch. I went from a 304 on my first practice test to a 320 on my last practice test and I got a 323 on test day! That was with a little under 3 months of studying almost every day - with intermittent breaks. I used the 90 day study guide and tried my best to stick to that for the majority of my studying. The videos and practice problems from the Magoosh website were key. One of the best tools I used as well was the Magoosh flash card phone app. I tried to use it whenever I had down time to stay on top of the wide range of vocabulary words.

Short answer: A lot! I had a month to prepare for the test which I had not heard of before (this is what happens when you suddenly find a phd you want to do and the deadline for application is in a few weeks!). I remember doing some gre questions I found online and it was horribly daunting. I hadn't done maths since I left high school and had no hope of answering any of the questions, most of them I didn't even know what I there were asking. Luckily I found Magoosh and it was very helpful, the videos were very easy to follow and the practice questions and flash cards were a huge help.I went from taking about 15 minutes to solve a single problem (and mass confusion) to feeling that I could understand the concepts even if I still made a few mistakes and for me that was a major step. I managed to get within the range I needed for the phd and without Magoosh I doubt this would be possible.

The timed questions and depth of solutions really made sure I was pacing myself properly and understanding how to solve the problems.

I didn't have a lot of time to prepare for this test this time-I literally took no more than 15 hours I think, besides going over Verbal Advantage. Last time I used Magoosh too, preparing sth like two hours every day for a month. This time I spent the ten hours reading a Chinese Maths textbook, read and half of the word lists offered by Xindongfang and Magoosh wordbook, and doing a Magoosh practice test and some customized practice. It helps warm me up for the exam. Shame I really didn't have much time to really prepare for the GRE, this has been an incredibly occupied year, but Magoosh helped me with its great simulation and succinct explanations.

The video testimonials for the Math was the best part of Magoosh. I also loved the study plans that gave me some structure to follow.

Although I considered math the easier section for me, Magoosh helped organize and clarify the ideas of this section. As for the verbal, my weaker section, Magoosh helped identify ways to think, approach questions, and study. This is the only way I can imagine approaching verbal, because each question is unique and doesn't have a clear cut method of solving it like quantitative questions normally do. Yet, Magoosh tries its best to group the different types of questions, so that's extremely helpful. Overall, Magoosh did wonders in an extremely convenient way and affordable manner.

Provided a wealth of practice problems and practical advice through the instructional videos.

Concise lessons, I can always get the core of a knowledge point within the few minutes' class. The explanation of each problem is concrete, and often solves what I am confused most.

Magoosh aids me to adjust my strategy when dealing with questions, and Since the questions out of the hard and very hard level are a little bit difficult than questions out of the actual test, so I can solve them easily.

Abundant practice

The only resource I used to prepare GRE.

For someone who doesn't speak English as the native language, Magoosh offers an all-sided approach to the mastery over the English language and I myself would not attain such score if I didn't use Magoosh for preparation. The verbal section, expecially the reading comprehension and the text completion parts, is of great value; the math section also provides abundant and elaborate questions for me to work with.

the math part is highly recommended,but the verbal part contains too much words that's not frequently seen in real GRE test, but the logic fits very well

It has been helpful toward my study with the math section since I did't pay too much attention to math at first. Practicing does help. I didn't get an overall improvement on the verbal section.

My math is good, but still, I finished all "very hard" and "hard", and it helped me get familiar with some traps and pitfalls.

It helped me a lot.. Math lessons are actually fabulous.... I am an engineering student however the videos helped me a lot to review.. and if I could sleep on the night of exam , I would get 170... Verbal videos are very good .. actually strategies are quite practical.

I did an undergraduate degree in Architecture, and only had math exposure through our structures courses. Otherwise, I was totally in the dark. The quant videos and practice questions were crucial to my success. I completely exceeded my expectations.
