You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Quant: I benefitted most from the mental math tips and tricks. I work with numbers all day in Private Equity and had never heard of these helpful hacks. Super.

Verbal: Working through nearly all of the Magoosh verbal question pool helped me immensely. I included a running list of all unfamiliar vocab words I encountered, and drilled them daily. I also liked the strategy videos for sentence completion.

General: Having your team available to chat, responding instantly during business hours, was incredible. Great for when I got tripped up in wrong answers to think through the correct answers in real time with a real person.

Magoosh structured my studying and I felt accountable to the schedule. Magoosh provided the actual content and concepts for the Quantitative section that I did not see in other prep materials. Even though I didn't do that well on the actual test, I did better in the ETS practice tests I did and would have probably gotten virtually every Quant question wrong if I hadn't used Magoosh. I wish I had done better in Quant, but wasn't expecting above 156 or 157 at best, and was thrilled with my Verbal Score.

Magoosh was the only resource I used to study, aside from a few other vocabulary resources. I felt extremely prepared to take the GRE after using Magoosh to study. I especially found the math tricks and tips very useful. I was able to make signifcant improvements to my verbal score from when I first started to test day. I even scored 11 points above my goal score of 320!

Magoosh accurately mimicked the questions and digital format of the actual GRE, which made me feel more at ease on test day. The lessons were a succinct way to weed through the fluff and determine what info I actually needed to know. While I spent most of my time on practice problems, the user interface across all Magoosh GRE prep materials was consistently straightforward and *dare I say* friendly.

Improved my vocabulary

Magoosh taught me strategies on how to approach GRE questions! I also really liked your study schedules — they helped me stay on track and study regularly for the big test! The amount of material presented on a day-to-day basis was never overwhelming but always enough to think about.

I completed all of the practice problems for both quant and vocab, and memorized all 1000 vocab cards. The explanation videos were very helpful, and I felt well prepared for the real exam.

Magoosh was extremely helpful. The platform is modern and easy to navigate and the practice questions are indistinguishable from genuine GRE questions. But the custom practice and item analysis really sealed the deal for me. Once I could identify weaknesses, I could watch answer videos and brush up on lessons. The whole experience is really robust, and aside from PowerPrep practice exams to understand the exam interface, I rarely used anything to study besides Magoosh. Highly recommend!

They helped me learn a lot of topics I didnt already know on math and other tricks to make it easier. The explanations for all the practice problems also helped me learn how to better approach questions I got wrong. I didnt concentrate as much on verbal and writing, but it was helpful to have tons of practice questions so i felt comfortable with verbal, and I loved the vocab app. The videos for the writing section helped me get a good idea of what the gre was expecting and what topics the prompts would be about. The schedule also helped so I wasnt overwhelmed when I started studying because it gave me a checklist to follow every day.

Magoosh was instrumental in teaching me new concepts for the GRE that I hadn’t learned from previous prep materials. The study plans had a great focus on both verbal AND quant, allowing for better development of each skill. The practice questions were phenomenal. Especially the way they could be sorted by topic, correct or incorrect, flagged, and more. I went through all of the videos once, and all of the practice questions, twice! I also utilized the Magoosh GRE vocabulary Flashcards app and the Magoosh gmat math Flashcards app, which solidified my readiness even further. I improved my score 6 points in verbal and 5 points in quant, and I solely attribute this to Magoosh.

The Magoosh training methodology is exceptional. The videos lessons are complimented with on-screen pen work following along the script, reinforcing learning with both visual and audible stimulation – a proven method used for decades, and mastered by Magoosh. The lessons are only a few minutes long each allowing for short study sessions (say between arriving home and dinner) and have options for up to 2x speed dubbing to allow quick review of topics you’re familiar with.

The Magoosh practice questions have very thorough explanations for how they got to the right answer, and they also directly link to an appropriate lesson for review if you need more help. The Magoosh website also allows personal notes for each question (and lesson) so you can guide your own memory through your own personal challenges.

In closing, the Magoosh GRE preparation service has my highest recommendation. Their service far exceeded their promise, on a budget and on schedule; their service directly maximizes the chance each of their students will get accepted to the program they desire!

The videos explained every concept I needed to know perfectly. There were plenty of practice problems to help me prepare. The videos explaining the answers to those practice problems were extremely helpful as well. I did the three-month plan, then the one-month advanced plan since I had 4 months to study.

It helped me broaden my vocabulary but also focus in on words that were relevant to the test. The GRE likes to use common words with secondary meanings. Many of the flash cards included such words.
