Hi!
Here's the question.

1/(2^(1-k)) < 1/8
and we want to compare k = -2

if 1/(2^(1-k)) < 1/8, then

2^(1-k) > 8 (for example 1/9 or 1/16 would be less than 1/8)

2^(1-k) > 8 when (1 - k) > 3

1 - k > 3
-2 > k
So k is LESS than -2.
Therefore column B (-2) is larger.
Hope I helped :)
