You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The practice sets were the most helpful part. Doing sets of 20 questions with the same time limits I would have on the test helped me improve my work tremendously. It was also helpful to have the explanation videos and lessons linked right to the questions I got wrong. Extremely helpful. I also liked the vocabulary app that you have for iPhone. I wouldn't have received my scores were it not for Magoosh.

Practice problems and videos

Magoosh is the only material I use to prepare for the test! I not only finished all the questions in verbal and maths section but also watched most video lessons. I have magoosh word builder app in my cell phone so I could improve my vocabulary level wherever I am! Also magoosh team helped me through email whenever I had a question!

Magoosh is perfect because I can take control of the time and know how I performed compared with the average level. The exercise, hard as it is, makes me more confident when taking an exam.

Help with my verbal so much, I have improved a lot

Magoosh was fantastic. I will admit, I was a little skeptical- why would this sketchy online GRE course with a heavily self-promoting blog and a weird name be any good. But I heard some good things, and the price was good, so I was willing to give it a shot. I didn't want to pay upwards of $1000 for a Manhattan course, and was willing to take a risk. And I couldn't be happier with how things turned out. The lessons were spot on, and broke out the key components very well. The practice questions and exams were accessible and good. And the explanations for each question helped a lot, since practice is such a big component of a good score. I think that I had the same learning/prep experience, if not better, than all of my friends that paid for Manhattan.

Great practice questions that were maybe a bit harder than the actual test

The verbal practice was excellent: the questions are exactly like real GRE questions (down to the stylistic nuances and the common trap answers), the explanations are thorough, and the verbal strategies were useful on the test.

The web site is refreshingly useful and easy to navigate. I particularly liked the ability to make custom practice sets, so that I can easily review missed questions, or focus on a certain question type or difficulty.

both the math and the verbal videos were extremely helpful. it was very clear what would and would not be on the exam. it helped having explanation videos for each practice question. I found magoosh practice questions to be the most difficult out of any practice materials I found, and I was grateful for this on test day. they really emphasized the common traps the test likes to exploit.
