You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The format of the questions was so similar to that of the actual test that I wasted no time getting used to the layout (I'm referring especially to the calculator, timer, "review" page, and just how the questions and answers appeared visually) when taking the GRE. The lessons provided a great starting place, but what I found particularly helpful was the video explanations for each question, so that I could really focus on my problem areas. I started off my studying using a couple books in conjunction with Magoosh, but ended up ditching them early on because I felt I was getting all the practice and review I needed here.

The lessons, blog articles and practice questions that Magoosh offers helped me immensely in my preparation. Had it not been for these resources, I am certain that I would not have improved, especially in the quantitative section; from an abysmal 144, I got it up to 156 (not impressive I know, but considering my original score, I could pretty much cry). You are a wonderful group of people, Magoosh! Simply the best. Thank you!

The study schedules were great! They really helped me to focus and plan my studying. The suggested resources were also excellent, as were the lesson videos and Magoosh practice questions. I don't think I would have done nearly as well without Magoosh.

The lesson modules were very helpful for the math section. The thing I appreciate the most from Magoosh is the difficulty of the practice questions. I found myself prepared for almost all of the questions on the GRE. And the GRE questions tended to be a bit more simplistic than the hard to very hard practice questions.

I wanted to improve my quantitative reasoning score, and the Magoosh video walkthroughs for very difficult math problems helped me troubleshoot where I was going wrong. I'd highly recommend Magoosh for this reason alone. I went from scoring in the mid-150s after a Kaplan course to scoring a 168 on quantitative reasoning after Magoosh!

Magoosh gave me everything I needed to prepare for the GRE at a fraction of the cost of competing classes. Magoosh ensured that there were no surprises on test day and that I had all of the tools I needed to score well.

I used Magoosh to identify areas of weakness and target my studying. The 3 month advanced student study plan was great!

Lots of practice and awesome flash cards. Plus I used the verbal videos to get a clearer understanding of what kind of questions they tested on.

I learned valuable techniques to use and perspectives to take during the verbal reasoning sections that I would not have come up with by myself. The detailed explanations, including the breaking down of sentences to find the key words in order to select the appropriate words, helped me tune my focus to answer those questions and approach the questions from a more logical-based perspective.

The adaptability of Magoosh challenged me and better prepared me for the actual exam. Specifically, the practice tests, which included the experimental section, gave me a good idea of what to expect on test day. The ETS practice tests provided online through the company only have four sections.

Working almost exclusively on the computer--I studied vocabulary using note cards--was also great preparation for the actual test, as I was comfortable with the ETS format and also staring at a computer screen for long periods of time.

Magoosh has such a melange of practice questions that I did not have to repeat questions in order to continue preparing. In fact, I did not go through all of the practice questions provided by Magoosh, although I felt well prepared based on the amount of practice I did.

The explanations for the essay section clearly outlined the premise of each essay and provided pragmatic approaches to writing each of them.

The videos were helpful (I watched all except the math), and the Math Formulas e-book was good as a refresher. The practice tests were at the right level of difficulty, and the ability to take section-like quizzes was great.

I was aided most of all by the statistics, which showed me in percentages which type of questions I was answering incorrectly. This allowed me to focus more on those type of questions rather than than all types of questions, e.g. I could answer only 60% of text completion questions correctly. When I realized this, I watched the lesson videos and solved questions of only that type till I got my percentage above 85%.

Before taking the GRE for the first time, I tried a variety of study materials and didn't find any to be very helpful. Magoosh, on the other hand, was exactly what I needed. Magoosh offers very thorough study materials for both the verbal and quantitative sections. I especially loved that the Magoosh questions are significantly more difficult than the actual GRE questions, so when I took the real test it seemed easy!

After taking numerous full-length practice tests (on the ETS website, Magoosh, Manhattan, etc), I was prepared to get a score of about 300, 310 at most. But I managed to get 324, totally out of my range. How'd that happen? Well, Magoosh.

Without Magoosh I never would have done this well on my sitting of the GRE. I used the product on and off for about a month to prepare and I was impressed with how similar Magoosh's practice questions were to the actual exam questions. Although I'll be taking the exam again, I'm satisfied with my first score and feel much more confident to approach the second exam. I'm now ready to spend more time working on addressing my problem areas (quant, in particular!) and prep for the next exam. In addition, I was also impressed with how affordable Magoosh was in comparison to other GRE prep products. For less than $100 I received much better instruction than friends who spent much more on GRE prep classes!

I couldn't have asked for a better product to prepare me for the GRE. Magoosh offers all the benefits of a personal tutor without the high price. The lesson videos made me feel comfortable with much of the GRE's content and formatting. The practice sections helped me work on my pace and were extremely indicative of the difficulty level of questions I would encounter on the actual test. Each question's individual video explanations clarified many questions I had. Even further, I was able to email Magoosh about specific questions I had if something was unclear, and I always received a prompt, thorough response. Lastly, the email I received the day before my test with test day tips was greatly comforting, as was the congratulatory email I received the day after my test. It was so reassuring knowing I wasn't going through this process alone. I am very pleased with this extensive support Magoosh has offered.

I had not sat through any sort of math class or lecture in a solid 9 years. I gave myself 2 weeks and with some intensive studying through Magoosh I managed to cram all that lost information right back in there.

I was always good with math but Magoosh helped me to sharpen my skills. The videos were very good as they taught me how to approach a problem in GRE where there are time constraints. Also the practice questions for math and verbal were very good and are very similar to the actual GRE. The most surprising improvement, however, was my verbal score. I was very bad with vocabulary and always scored only around 150 in verbal in practice tests. But the approach taught by Magoosh for RCs turned everything around for me.Both, the videos and the practice problems, proved to be very useful to get familiar with GRE questions.Also the material suggested by Chris was very helpful. My vocabulary was very poor but as Chris suggested I studied the Barrons 1100 most frequent words along with magoosh e-book and finally that seemed to be sufficient. I am very happy with my score.

I wasn't very happy with Magoosh. In fact, I wasn't happy at all. Rather, I was ecstatic! Let me preface my performance on the GRE by stating that I haven't been in an undergrad class for math or English in over 10 years. After obtaining my first Bachelor's degree, I went to nursing school. After several years of working as a nurse, I applied for CRNA school; for which the GRE is required. After a dismal performance on several practice questions, I began to go through Magoosh's lesson plans. I only allowed myself 5 weeks to prepare (not recommended), but was wholly dedicated. I worked a full time and part time job while preparing for the GRE, yet I still put in several hours daily. My practice scores steadily improved. I was thrilled with my score of 314 and 4.5 (although I had set 320 and 5 as a goal). Nevertheless, the average GRE score for those accepted in CRNA programs is about 302 and 4. Hence, I am excited to have performed accordingly. Had I given myself several months to prepare, I feel that I would have reached my goal. However, Magoosh allowed me to follow an organized study plan, learn the most in the least amount of time, and offered an affordable and effective product that is masterfully designed. I have since recommended Magoosh to three of my friends, one of whom has already begun using Magoosh (Kyle Mayo). He has previously taken the GRE with lackluster results. Kyle is already seeing the difference in his performance after just a few weeks of Magoosh. He, too, is excited about the product. Thank you and thank you, again. Magoosh really helped me stay on track studying - I studied consistently each day, rather than trying to cram. The video lessons were immensely helpful in explaining concepts I had long forgotten or never learned in the first place and I utilized a number of the strategies during the actual exam. Math was my weaker area and the sheer number and diversity of practice questions was invaluable. Finally, the product provided good suggestions for additional study materials. And lest I forget, my questions were always answered extremely promptly and politely!

By going through all the Magoosh math problems and videos, I was able to become familiar enough with all the concepts so that I knew how to do every type of problem on the GRE. Since I tend to be very conscious and meticulous in general when I work problems, time tends to be my largest obstacle on these type of tests. Because Magoosh has the option of timing each problem, I was able to become more aware of my timing on the test. I am fairly confident that if I continued to work on my timing, my quantitative score would go up even more!
