You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Both questions and videos are extremely helpful. I also sent a request for help and got such a nice and helpful reply back. Thank you!

Magoosh was a great help during my GRE preparation. The videos were a great help, as were the practice questions. The reply to questions were very lucid. Great work guys :) !!

It provides the effective training to the full spectrum---vocabulary, logic, techniques, reading, etc.

1) First and foremost Mike was very good at covering topics that I hadn't seen since high school, just watching the videos acted as a very good refresher.
2) I cannot stress enough how valuable the vocab flashcards are, my verbal section basically consisted only of words from Chris' flashcards, and I was able to fly through them on the test in some cases less than 15 seconds per question.
3) The questions were much more complicated than those seen on test day, which served as good practice - for the quantitative section. The verbal questions are not so comparable to the actual test questions, but they're very good and better than anything other than what ETS publish.
4) In general as a native speaker I didn't get a huge amount of value out of Chris' videos, the shifts and inductive reasoning to fill a blank was natural, and I didn't need such a formulaic approach. However one exception to that rule was the reading comprehension, I found his tips on the mental snapshot and summarizing as you go along to be an invaluable tip.

Finally just a note for anyone reading this as I don't think its necessarily stressed enough - make sure you're prepared for that experimental section! It adds more time to the test and your brain is incredibly fried by the time you get to your final section (hence my Quant score). I'd suggest after sitting a mock exam you actually do another block of questions from somewhere to fully simulate the test experience.

All in all Magoosh is a valuable prep tool, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Using Magoosh, I found that I had all the resources I needed to approach the GRE with confidence. The video-learning format was a convenient way to learn and review, and the practice questions with solutions were quite valuable.

It was basically the only prep resource I used, so it helped me tremendously.

Videos were a great help. I had a feel for the reading portion of the test, but really polished up old math concepts with Magoosh's help. Explanations were super clear and the difficulty/nature of the questions simulated the GRE very accurately. Thank a lot!!

I loved the apps for vocabulary and math practice (i used all of them, including the math GMAT app)

Studying for vocabulary 2 months in advance was key.

I would suggest studying vocab well in advance and then ramping up the math with as much practice as possible as the test day approaches. For me the math concepts were all very familiar but I still made lots of mistakes in practice and had trouble with pacing.

I sent emails with questions about study schedule which were answered in great detail. However, they recommended not taking too many practice tests, and I did the opposite. Spending time doing full length practice tests everyday for a week or so before the test helped me enormously, and I saw huge improvements in my score.

Honestly I felt that I spent a lot of time watching lesson videos which could have been better spent doing more practice.

Excellent preparation tools including great videos to learn from experts, fantastic selection of problems which were tough but helpful. Tremendous customer support, as well.

I started off bad when I took my first practice test for the GRE. Scored a 298 and I was scared to take the exam since it was just a month away. But magoosh helped me a lot, infact it was the only help I got. I significantly improved on my verbal and quants with a 24 point jump in my final GRE test. The standard of their practice questions are pretty high and they know what they're doing. I'd recommend Magoosh any day. It's all you need for a great competitive score on your test.

All the practice questions and video solutions really helped me improve my approach to the different types of questions. The lessons were also very thorough and well organized--I had a much easier time learning from them than from study books.

It was great being able to ask real people questions and have them respond so quickly. I also loved learning by videos, so it was great being able follow along with videos for every question and lesson.

I only used to Magoosh to study and it was great!

Apart from the ETS official guide, Magoosh was the only platform I used for my GRE preparation. The practice questions helped me in putting a focused effort on my weaker areas. I could easily identify my mistakes and work on them. I went through the videos for every question that I couldn't answer correctly and thanks to Chris and Mike, my score significantly improved from the time I started preparing. Apart from this, the practice tests helped me in getting adjusted to the real examination conditions. Thank you to the entire Magoosh Team! :)

I hadn't taken a math class since my senior year of high school about 12 years ago and Magoosh taught reacquainted me with all the math concepts that I had long ago forgotten. The format of Magoosh's practice exercises allowed me to target areas that needed improvement as well as wean me from easy to hard to very hard level problems. I enjoyed the lesson plans and benefited a lot from the strategies in both math and verbal sections. I also appreciated the test-taking attitudes that I learned from Magoosh which helped to keep me interested in the learning process.
