You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

I couldn't ve got 157 in just 19 days preparation without Magoosh. All the questions are very similar to what I saw during the test, and the website is so well-designed, the layout is clear, everything is easy to use. I would say it is totally worthy the money lol. Basically I finished all the verbal questions on Magoosh and got 157 while I was experiencing stomachache during the test :( I only did 30 Quant questions but I am good at math (I still believe so) I got 167 for the same reason, I think the pain distracted me a little bit. Overall, I will keep using magoosh to get myself be familiar with all the quant questions and keep the pace of verbal until my second try, which is a month later at 9.18.

Pointed out the traps in math questions

I largely used the math video lessons; they were very thorough and emphasized the cultivation of a deep understanding of concepts, rather than rote memorization. I also heavily relied on the study plans to help me structure my time and stay on schedule.

It was useful to brush up on concepts that I have not worked on for a while.

The practice problems gave me an idea of what to expect on the actual exam. The math videos also helped me review important concepts that I had forgotten since high school.

Although I had studied numerous books and practice tests prior to joining Magoosh, I learned so many techniques from Magoosh that proved to be extremely helpful. I love the fact that each video is extremely specific and breaks down every important concept in a way that is easy to understand. Also, it's truly encouraging to know that the tutors at Magoosh are there for us whenever we need them. I asked quite a few questions via e-mail and received extremely detailed explanations.

Very helpful that Magoosh focuses on familiarization with the variety of question types. Regarding content, Math is not my strong suit, so I focused on it. Was hoping for a higher grade, but am definitely pleased with Magoosh's math videos. (I think I will recognize Mike McGarry's voice forever!) Verbal was not as much of a stressor for me, but I'm sure I would have gotten a lower score without reviewing Magoosh's test questions.

When I began studying for the GRE I knew that I needed to relearn all the math. The math lesson videos were so helpful because I could skip the topics I was already confident about and emphasize the areas I struggled with. The plethora of practice problems gave me exposure to the format of the exam. I also loved using the Magoosh flash card app on my phone to study vocabulary, because I could conveniently study anywhere!

I bought math only and do a few hundred practice questions. The video explanations were very helpful. Also the PDF of math concepts/formulas was excellent!

With math so much

Good math refresher and I liked that the math questions were generally harder than the GRE. I thought the verbal and the vocab were very similar to the actual test.

Every week for 8 weeks before the test I did 5-6 sessions of math practice mimicking test conditions (20 questions in 35 minutes). That dramatically improved my math score on practice tests and helped me get used to timing, making smart guesses and finding shortcuts. I also did more relaxed practice sessions where I'd try problems and then watch the video explanations (and the attached lessons if I didn't get the concept). I did every math problem on Magoosh at least twice. I also watched the verbal strategies and used the flash card app to practice vocab. As you can see from my scores the hard work paid off. Before this round of studying my score would have been a liability, now it's an asset.

I took 6 weeks to do the 1 month study guide and I couldn't be more pleased with how much I was able to absorb in so little time. Magoosh helped me stay on track and organized, which helped me reach my end goal.

It helped prepare me for what was on the test, which made me have more confidence in my answers. On the day of the test I wasn't nervous because I was so familiar with the format and types of questions.

When I took the GRE for the first time, I studied with one of Magoosh's main competitors (Kaplan). Unfortunately, I had never heard of Magoosh before. The other program was acceptable for learning how to take the GRE, but it relied on facile test taking strategies and practice problems, which restrained me from accessing the top threshold of Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing scores that I desired (while still trying to earn a solid score in Quantitative Reasoning, of course). Magoosh, on the other hand, is a program designed to help students who already have good scores earn excellent scores. It is impressive that Magoosh recommends outside content to supplement its own program, including Manhattan Prep (another challenging learning suite that does pair well with Magoosh). Yet Magoosh's own program is both rigorous and complete, so it does not normally require such supplementation. Free of most of the sales gimmicks that are prevalent elsewhere in the test prep industry, Magoosh presents what a GRE test taker needs to learn in a straightforward fashion but at an elite level.

During the Verbal Reasoning portion of the test, on which I earned a true perfect score (170/170), I could actually hear Chris Lele's voice in my head (creepy? perhaps) guiding me through the toughest questions – the questions that allowed me to earn that perfect score. By the time that I took the actual test, I had done so many "Very Hard" (i.e. absurdly hard) Verbal Reasoning practice questions with Chris Lele's guidance that his method of explaining their subtleties had become engrained in me. Because of this alone, I'd almost be willing to call Magoosh's GRE preparatory program "priceless."

Magoosh's extensive collection of problems and instructional videos gave me excellent practice before the test! I did every single verbal problem, and the results of my preparation using Magoosh is reflected in my score! The study plans were a great way for me to stay on track, and I am looking forward to (hopefully!) getting into my top-choice humanities school. Thanks Magoosh--this was a phenomenal program.

The practise questions helped me get accustomed to the types of questions in the real test. Specifically the practise helped me improve my comprehension skills. I also received quite a lot of help in vocabulary (both flashcards and questions).

Flexible program, and provided strong practice materials for the test. I think the concept reviews, especially for the quant section were very thorough.

Awesome practice questions will helpful explanations made studying as easy as possible. Plus the questions were harder than the actual test which is always a good thing.
