You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The practice questions were very similar to the real thing, and I lived being able to work on them at my own rhythm. The study plan really helped me focus and I learned good tricks from the video. I think my favorite part though was the quick responses I got when I asked a question about how to improve where I was struggling.

I knew practically zero math before I began studying with Magoosh. I spent my summer learning math from beginning to end with the Magoosh video lessons. Once I finished the lesson videos, I spent the next few weeks just doing Magoosh practice problems, watching the explanation videos, and taking a practice GRE approximately once a week. My math scores consistently increased with my studying from 151 to 154 to 156 to 159, and finally a 161 on test day! I used Magoosh practice GRE, as well as ETS powerprep and Manhattan GRE (as recommended by Magoosh) to take the practice tests.

Regarding verbal, I have been a pretty strong critical thinker for a while, but my main challenge was vocabulary. I massively improved my vocabulary by mastering all 1000 Magoosh Flashcards, as well as by using the Magoosh Vocabulary Builder to make the vocabulary studying more exciting and fun. The verbal videos helped me to some degree with strategies for solving the single-, double-, and triple-blank problems as well as the sentence equivalence problems. Reading Comprehension problems studying mostly involved actually reading as many of those long passages as I could find and doing practice problems.

Most of all, what Magoosh gave me was the perfect balance in studying. It provided a structured study method which kept me on track and progressing, while at the same time allowed me to take breaks when I needed them, with the knowledge that the program will be waiting right there for me when I was ready to continue learning, and I wouldn't have missed a thing. In the middle of my studying plan I got a bit burned out , and took almost a week off, and my brain really needed that break. The flexibility to do that was only possible with a program like Magoosh. But like I said before, despite the tremendous flexibility, I never felt a lack of structure or direction, as if I were trying to teach it all to myself. The lessons were extremely clear, I was motivated to continue moving through the program, and my progress was quantifiable. It felt like being in a full-service university, with all the support and structure that comes with it, but I happen to have the option to press pause and play, rewind and fast forward. I am truly indebted to you.

Great math videos that incorporated examples of the kinds of questions we might encounter on the exam. I also liked that it encouraged consistent practice--by far, the most important study tool.

Magoosh provided me with a relevant question bank. Practice questions were slightly harder than the actual test, thus there were no surprises with respect to difficulty level.

Honestly, my main reason for choosing Magoosh was to improve my Quant score. Practicing all the maths questions helped me brush up my skills and improve my accuracy.

I found it really useful to have all the information laid out for me in one place, and the videos did a great job of explaining all the topics that could be in the exam. The practice questions were very realistic, and were very similar to what I experienced on exam day.

Prepping on material/ learning what types of questions were on the test, actual test practice (the best way I learn), suggested study habits (didn't use any but it was nice to know, plus the coasters vs sprinters bit was funny), and prompt responses to questions I asked. Also, the essay and FCP/combinatorics video lessons were excellent and helped me understand stuff i didn't get way back in high school. All these combined helped bolster my confidence.

Yes. Without a doubt. You guys plus the Manhattan 5 lb book and there's no way you don't do well.

Vocab flashcards were awesome. I only did about 300 words but that helped a lot.
