You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Flashcards - words were great. Video Lessons were the closest thing I've gotten to classroom lessons without having to pay a lot. Math exercises were great, verbal questions and explanations helped me think through the problems in a better way.

The math lessons were tremendously helpful at refreshing my understanding of concepts I haven't referenced for many years.

Simply put, using Magoosh is the best way to prepare for the GRE. My math skills were OK so I was only looking for practice questions of high quality and that's exactly what I found As a non-native speaker, I was intimidated and cowed by obscure GRE vocabulary. However, Magoosh GRE Vocabulary flashcards app helped me to overcome this fear and start to learn and understand (!!!) the words. Moreover, Vocab Wednesdays with Chris are just awesome! I've seen a few words from these videos on my test day so I would highly recommend watching them.

Magoosh helped me immensely especially with my weakness aka Verbal. The vocabulary covered and the range of practise questions available helped me to improve my average practise scores which were around 157 to 163.

Questions are representative of the real test questions. Explanations are also great.

Magoosh helped me identify my weak points and stengthen them. The quality of questions and explanations is quite high and made the gre seem quite easy!

The lessons, especially the math review, helped a lot! Remembering high school math can be a challenge. Also, doing practice questions on the computer and then seeing your predicted score is very helpful and motivating! I also really liked your vocab apps.

Being able to track how long each question took was pretty nice. The vocabulary flashcards were also helpful. The math lessons, and the video explanations of each practice problem, were probably what helped me the most.

Magoosh was more difficult than the actual test, in my opinion, so it made test day seem easier. Also, video explanations coupled with a text version provided any feedback necessary.

It helped me understand what the test questions would be like. I felt very comfortable when taking the actual test because it felt very familiar.

Both questions and videos are extremely helpful. I also sent a request for help and got such a nice and helpful reply back. Thank you!

Helped me with tips, practice, and strategies

Magoosh was a great help during my GRE preparation. The videos were a great help, as were the practice questions. The reply to questions were very lucid. Great work guys :) !!

It provides the effective training to the full spectrum---vocabulary, logic, techniques, reading, etc.

1) First and foremost Mike was very good at covering topics that I hadn't seen since high school, just watching the videos acted as a very good refresher.
2) I cannot stress enough how valuable the vocab flashcards are, my verbal section basically consisted only of words from Chris' flashcards, and I was able to fly through them on the test in some cases less than 15 seconds per question.
3) The questions were much more complicated than those seen on test day, which served as good practice - for the quantitative section. The verbal questions are not so comparable to the actual test questions, but they're very good and better than anything other than what ETS publish.
4) In general as a native speaker I didn't get a huge amount of value out of Chris' videos, the shifts and inductive reasoning to fill a blank was natural, and I didn't need such a formulaic approach. However one exception to that rule was the reading comprehension, I found his tips on the mental snapshot and summarizing as you go along to be an invaluable tip.

Finally just a note for anyone reading this as I don't think its necessarily stressed enough - make sure you're prepared for that experimental section! It adds more time to the test and your brain is incredibly fried by the time you get to your final section (hence my Quant score). I'd suggest after sitting a mock exam you actually do another block of questions from somewhere to fully simulate the test experience.

All in all Magoosh is a valuable prep tool, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Using Magoosh, I found that I had all the resources I needed to approach the GRE with confidence. The video-learning format was a convenient way to learn and review, and the practice questions with solutions were quite valuable.

It was basically the only prep resource I used, so it helped me tremendously.

Videos were a great help. I had a feel for the reading portion of the test, but really polished up old math concepts with Magoosh's help. Explanations were super clear and the difficulty/nature of the questions simulated the GRE very accurately. Thank a lot!!

I loved the apps for vocabulary and math practice (i used all of them, including the math GMAT app)

Studying for vocabulary 2 months in advance was key.

I would suggest studying vocab well in advance and then ramping up the math with as much practice as possible as the test day approaches. For me the math concepts were all very familiar but I still made lots of mistakes in practice and had trouble with pacing.

I sent emails with questions about study schedule which were answered in great detail. However, they recommended not taking too many practice tests, and I did the opposite. Spending time doing full length practice tests everyday for a week or so before the test helped me enormously, and I saw huge improvements in my score.

Note:
Honestly I felt that I spent a lot of time watching lesson videos which could have been better spent doing more practice.
