You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The timed practice questions simulating the actual test were incredibly helpful for getting myself used to doing timed math sections. And the explanatory videos on each problem were so helpful

It was all around a fabulous resource. Clearly outlined all topics in an approachable manner, had helpful study tools, and made me feel confident and prepared.

The quant videos broke down the topics into really understandable chunks. They also had great shortcuts that helped increase my understanding of underlying mathematical concepts. I really used magoosh for quant prep. The practice problem explanations we're invaluable. I did find the math problems on Magoosh harder than the actual GRE but that may have helped me do better than the magoosh estimates.

What was most helpful for me was the large quantity of practice questions and the detailed explanations for each question/answer. I am an engineer so I didn’t need much review of math concepts, but I needed help getting used to the format of the test and the kinds of questions I would encounter. It was also extremely helpful to view the stats from my practice and see both what topics I was struggling with and what types of questions (numeric entry, multiple answer, etc).

The biggest help was simply that I got lots of practice getting used to the format & pacing - I could do a practice section whenever I wanted using the practice problems I hadn’t answered yet, which was super helpful for just feeling comfortable when I took the actual exam. Also all the strategies for answering verbal questions when I don’t know the vocab came in super handy!

The math lessons were particularly helpful in teaching fundamentals and developing number sense. The integration of practice problems with the lessons also made things easier. I’ll miss Mike’s soothing voice before bed now that I don’t have any GRE prep work to do at night.

Primary study tool alongside ETS. I knew I learned better visually and orally so videos were great. The filter feature was really good for determining my weak points. Really understated feature. I also really liked the text answers because I could more quickly scan for my mistake rather than listen to the whole video.

The lessons really helped fill in the gaps in my knowledge and let me practice, once test day came I was comfortable and nothing on the test surprised me.
