You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Understanding different math topics and developing my number sense

The mobile app allowed me to watch lesson videos on the go, wherever I was. Likewise, the vocabulary app was easy and convenient for a physical flashcard hater like myself. I found the detailed and unassuming math videos very helpful but PLEASE make a highlights reel or summary. By the time I got thru 28 hours I needed a recap. Its a lot. On the verbal side, the consistently used technique of coming up with the answer before reading the answer options was simple and highly effective. Being aware of common traps meant I didn't fall for nearly as many. Finally, I really liked the dashboard score predictor and the comprehensive question review features.

Magoosh was great - it was thorough and gave me a significant arsenal of questions to practice and hone my skills. The video explanations also were of great help - and the extensive math section really helped me boost my scores. Though my scores didn't increase as high as I would have liked it to, Magoosh provided me a testing environment much like the one I would see on the GRE, which helped me become comfortable with the set up.

Magoosh provided insightful ways for me improve my scores. I gained valuable knowledge on the various types of questions I could expect, and ways to not fall into the test makers traps. The first time taking the test I only used materials provided by ETS, and I didn’t feel confident when taking the test. I felt extremely prepared on test day after using Magoosh.

I was really bad at verbal section. I needed relevant material which reflects actual GRE questions. Magoosh has a great library of questions which is similar to actual GRE questions. I learned different tricks which helped me solve the questions efficiently within the time constraint. Overall, my experience was awesome. I would definitely recommend Magoosh to anyone who plans to take the test.

Magoosh provides lots of practice problems in both quant and verbal, offering many examples of most types of questions that I saw on the GRE.
