You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Its lessons help know what kind of abilities the GRE exactly tests. And the practice is perfect because I can check out what't the problem of my learning.

To get an idea about the test (as in test pattern, types and ways in which the questions can be asked), and how to approach those question types. I found this particularly useful in the verbal section, since I was weak in that area, and the AWA section.

Magoosh was extremely helpful, and it was my only form of preparation. I found the questions from Magoosh a bit harder than the questions I found in the GRE, which is really good, as it made the GRE look a bit easier. The flashcards app helped me extend my range of vocabulary.

The video lessons really helped refresh my memory of all the basic math concepts that I had forgotten. The teaching style is very effective. The practice test also helped me get a better sense of how the real test would be.

The big help was in providing the structured study plans. I found it extremely convenient to be able to say not just "I'm going to study for 3 hours" but rather "I'm going to do x number of problems and watch your number of videos."

It helped me practice under real exam circumstances, in an ejoyable and easy way. Plus, the vocabulary flashcards were great.

Fantastic lessons, flashcards, and practiced exams are the most helpful ones. Also, I read articles on the cultural sections of New Yorkers and The Atlantic almost every day as recommended by Magoosh, and it helped me build up some vocabularies and get familiar with kinda tortuous writing style. Basically, I just sticked to the one-month preparation plan and it paid off eventually.

Magoosh helped me focus on the specific topics that I had difficulty with. I did all the practice problems and watched the lessons videos on topics that I did not do well on.

Magoosh provided an excellent learning environemet

The verbal lessons in Magoosh trained me to approach reading comprehension problems in a different way, boosting my score way more than I thought it would. The math lessons helped me brush up on math concepts, and taught me elegant ways to approach problems so I don't get too reliant on punching numbers in the calculator. Unfortunately, my score in math was not what I had hoped; my only regret is that I didn't start reviewing earlier!

I was already very solid on verbal but hadn't done any math whatsoever in about six years by the time I started studying for the GRE, as all of my time in University was spent in the Humanities. Magoosh's study plans and math lessons helped me to essentially re-learn all of the math I had learned in high school, as well as a few higher-level concepts, to make up for that gap. More importantly the quick tricks for solving math problems without complex calculations and identifying mathematical patterns were very helpful for tackling the GRE math sections within the time limits - if I'd just sat down with some math textbooks I could've learned how to do any given GRE problem, but I would have taken way too much time to get through a full Quant section in 35 minutes.

Magoosh verbal 1000 words did come in the passages and sentences which help me in understanding the context of the passages and sentences. This assist lot in selecting the correct words and answer

Magoosh helped me get used to the question types I would see on the GRE, and helped me identify vocabulary and math concepts that would show up. I felt like the quant skills necessary to do well on the Magoosh problems prepared me well for the actual test.

Overall, although it has its kinks, Magoosh effectively prepared me for the test for the right price, and I am greatly appreciative of the service. Thanks!!

Helped me focus on my problem areas

Videos were really helpful especially for math that I haven't seen in a while. The ability to take a practice test that simulated the real test/generate custom practice. The pure number of practice questions was great!

The math practice was extremely helpful in re-teaching important concepts for the test. The practice tests and format were also helpful in getting a good idea of what to expect.
