You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

It was a good problem bank for review and a good dataset to identify areas where I was slow or perhaps my knowledge was a bit infirm.

The video lessons were the most helpful. For math, I gained a better understanding of core concepts in the quant section; no questions on the GRE seemed foreign math-wise . The verbal lessons gave an edge to my already keen verbal ability, particularly through detailed tricks and tips for each question type.

Magoosh helped me to think faster and more efficiently. By practicing with Magoosh, I got used to the types of questions on the GRE. The difficulty of the questions was very similar to those in the actual GRE. Keep up with the good job!

Magoosh provided me with a convenient source of practice questions and explanations that help me understand the strategies needed to improve my GRE score. Using their detailed explanations I was able to identify the types of questions better, which made them much easier to tackle.

I'm 36 years old, and I took the GRE before about 15 years ago. I did fairly well when it took it before, but my scores were old. The problem was that I haven't taken a math course other than statistics in 17 years. I've also been out of graduate school for 8 years. So, when I opened up the ETS to take my first practice test, I was shocked by how little I could remember, particularly on the quantitative end. I knew that I could teach myself, but I had no idea where to start. I'm thankful for Magoosh giving me direction. The lessons were easy and geared specifically for the GRE. I felt like a learned a lot of tricks that I otherwise may not have learned. It was crazy to think that I was learning math that I hadn't done since middle school. I'm thankful for the easy, pain-free review.

An awesome by-product was the GRE Verbal Flashcards. I would just spend my spare time reviewing words. Before I knew it, I knew the whole list. Incredibly, what was the lowest score on the GRE 15 years ago became my highest score because of my increase vocabulary using the flashcards. Overall, Magoosh is an incredible product. Magoosh helped me grow confident in math problems and supplied me with tons of useful material to practice for the test. Magoosh is absolutely worth it and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Helped me get back into thinking about math, which I hadn't done for 4 years. Through doing all the questions I saw many different situations of possible questions and became comfortable with all the math concepts on the test. The vocabulary Flashcards helped me learn many words and review old ones, such that I felt very confident about my vocabulary going in to the test. The study plan kept me on track and motivated to study every day.

vocabulary flashcard, verbal exercises and practice test are super helpful. Effective and efficient. Especially the practice test, simply better than ETS' practice test.

The videos were great. I learned a lot of techniques I didn't have before. Tracking time per problem, incorrect problems, and flagging was very useful.

I used the 1 month study guide religiously. Having the math practice questions and explanations was particularly useful. I also would listen to the videos walking to work and practice mental math, which I really think helped me get in that headspace.

The 600+ math questions were really useful in improving my scores. The questions were almost exactly similar to what I ended up being asked on the GRE. I didn't use the videos that much, but only did the questions and they boosted my math score by 8 points.

1. Magoosh's GRE flashcards embellished my vocabulary considerably, and also provided me with a fair deal of confidence, regarding the vocabulary sections of the test.
2. While I did not use Magoosh for its video-lectures, I must say that I found its practice questions quite useful, doing about a hundred questions in each of the two major sections. I think that they art an accurate representation of one's performance in the examination, going so far as to inform me that my speed was slower than the average, which proved to be quite detrimental to me in the exam, since I wasn't able to complete three sections fully. I think if one takes the practice questions seriously, and keeps a tab on their average time, Magoosh could help with giving a person enough preparation and confidence to clear the GRE.
