You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Magoosh helped me to focus my efforts on high frequency vocab words and helped me to improve my math score by a few points - even though I have traditionally been quite bad at math.

Magoosh was amazing - having previously taken Kaplan prep courses (I took the GRE over 10 years ago), Magoosh was so much better. I used a study plan, watched videos, and more importantly, took practice tests that absolutely prepared me for the real thing. When I took the actual test, it felt exactly like taking the practice test.

The videos are much easier to follow than the ETS book explanations. The latter are much more focused on the math whereas the videos review the math but within the context of the exam. I love that there is an explanation for every practice problem. It's great that I can change the speed of the videos--get through the easier information faster or slow it down to follow difficult ideas more closely. I also like that the videos have written descriptions of the information, so if for some reason listening and watching isn't clicking, I can read the explanation, too.

The math videos helped me understand concepts I had never learned or totally forgot. For my first practice test, I scored at 18th percentile in math. But on test day I made a 160 on the math section.

Prior to my first attempt at the GRE, I mainly used the ETS official prep guide for my preparations. Magoosh gave me some really useful tips on saving time and provided me with shortcuts for doing huge calculations. Besides this, I was also able to access a wide array of practice questions which greatly helped me prepare for the test.

Magoosh was great in preparing me for my exam. Some of your very helpful products and materials for me were Vocabulary Flashcards, the study plan by Chris, and Verbal video tutorials.

Magoosh was my primary source of preparation and it helped me immensely. Coming from a STEM academic background, and working as data analyst for the last 3 years, the verbal section of the GRE was quite a challenging for me. Hence I watched all of the lesson videos on Magoosh, and Chris' strategies on how to tackle reading comprehension, text completion and sentence equivalence questions where immensely helpful to me.

I practiced questions from the question bank extensively, and having the solutions explained for each and every question was also very beneficial.

Finally, I used the magoosh vocabulary builder app on Android to memorize the definitions of new/unfamiliar words which played a key role in helping develop my vocabulary.

Mike's math lessons made me feel like I was back in my high school math class, and focused on understanding and refreshing concepts rather than other test prep services that rely on quick tricks for solving problems. Thanks Mike!

The verbal questions were much more difficult than the actual GRE and I was able to breeze through tough vocabulary. Instructional videos on methods to answer questions helped take my score to another level.

Practice problems that helped me understand and focus on my weak areas. The regularity that Magoosh provided was extremely helpful. Magoosh replicates the exam problems very well. I was surprised at the similarity of questions I saw on Magoosh and the actual test. The best part is the vocabulary app; you have done a real good job of taking the high frequency words and building an excellent app.

The videos for both math and verbal were extremely helpful. They taught me what to look for in questions and quick ways to answer them. My score was raised a total of 20 points!!

The videos were very helpful for the verbal section. I would not have done as well as I did without them. The problems were very representative of the level of difficulty for the actual test.

I had about a month to study and used the one-month study plan and a one-month premium plan to prepare. In particular, I needed a crash course in math after several years out of school! The courses were excellent and the practice questions were incredibly helpful; I was working full-time and needed lessons that could adapt to my schedule, so this was an amazing option (and much more cost-effective than tutoring or classes). I would highly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation!
