You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Magoosh definitely helped me with my mental dexterity on the math section. I had used a prep book on my first go round that didnt prepare me for how quickly I needed to move on the math section. It also REALLY helped with my technique on the writing section. I will say that my improvement on the literature section cant be attributed to Magoosh because I didnt use Magoosh at all for that.

Oh boy, how did it not help me? I think the ability to target specific areas of study for practice and include the relevant instruction videos was huge. The explanation videos and commonly asked questions ("why isn't it answer B?") to problems were also incredibly helpful in figuring out wrong answer choices and developing that very important test instinct. Magoosh also offers the ability to save notes in real time during instruction videos, problems, and explanation videos. It made keeping track of common mistakes or forgotten words much much easier.

The math lessons were absolutely great! And the video explanations after every question were really helpful. Also, Magoosh staff were fast in answering every question I had.

Although I am a native English speaker, I never read books for fun growing up. So when I found out that I needed to take the GRE, I knew that the Verbal section was going to be difficult. The vocabulary flashcard app was amazing and the fact that I could use it during my daily commute was an added bonus. Due to how well integrated Magoosh is for mobile, I was also able to solve hundreds of verbal questions during my time on the bus. I never would have thought that I would be able to score above 160 on the Verbal section but I did!

As for the quantitative section, everyone can agree that Magoosh prepares you above and beyond for it. The math topics that you need to learn for the GRE are fairly simple but you have to be really quick. Magoosh teaches you so many tips and tricks that you will find yourself just speeding through the math sections with little to no error.

I can't forget about the fact that you can take practice exams with Magoosh! The GRE is a long test and you really have to be ready for such a mental beating. Having taken 4 practice exams with Magoosh really helped me be mentally ready for exam day.

Provided easy-to-navigate, helpful lessons that were comprehensive. Most helpful for me were the enormous amounts of practice questions and tests. Preparing substantively is obviously important, but potentially an underestimated aspect of preparation is getting accustomed to practicing on a computer, like you'll actually take the test. That was so helpful.

Unfortunately I barely had a couple weeks to prepare so it was not enough to make the best out of Magoosh, but it helped me relax before the test as I understood better what was expected from me thanks to the practice questions.

I loved all the lesson videos. In comparison to the study book I had from Princeton review, the lessons and practice questions were at a much higher level, which I needed. The challenge health score by 20 points!

Great practice questions in math

Just have a way to study without reading a boring manual. It's dynamic learning!

Practice questions closely resembled test questions, and video reviews of each question were extremely helpful for both verbal and quant. Pairing those with the lessons, I was able to reinforce content knowledge and develop strategies to save time and recognize patterns. The latter of which was sorely missing from the books I used to prepare for my first exam.

I took the GRE after studying for the math section for a month using Kaplan materials. However, math questions on the GRE were very nothing like the Kaplan practice. I decided to retake the exam, and bought a couple of other prep books. After a few weeks, I practically panicked because my new GRE was two weeks away and I had yet to come across any material discussing the kinds of questions I had missed the first time, or practice questions at the rigor level of the test. Finally I bit the bullet and purchased Magoosh. I wish I had bought it the first time, since it would have saved me the cost of the second exam, let alone the hours of additional review. After studying the Magoosh Math section for two weeks, my Quant score improved 8 points.
