You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The study plans provided on the blog are super helpful in structuring the ENORMOUS amount of information and materials out there. I used the 6 months math beginner plan with the NOVA math book instead of Barron. The videos, especially math, really helped me understand the material. Never once did I watch a video and think, huh, I still don't understand that. Thanks a lot to Mike! I didn't do too well on the quant section on test day compared to practice tests - I guess I got a bit flustered, that's not mikes fault. Nevertheless, I improved my quant score from 154 (first practice test after around a month of studying) to 163 on the actual test. The Magoosh team always responded to my queries within a few hours. I really appreciated getting a quick reply. All in all, I was very happy with Magoosh and a big thank you to the team!

Magoosh was the reason I was able to improve my score so drastically. I am extremely grateful for the quick responses I received for personal questions as well as all the well explained answers to practice questions. Prior to my previous test I used ETS prep materials and did not feel as well prepared.

Magoosh prepared me for the GRE by helping me identify which subjects I needed to study and which pitfalls to avoid, so that on exam day I was fully prepared for anything ETS threw at me.

It helped me get familiar with the structure of the exam.

Reading and vocabulary

The math and verbal were very helpful. I loved Mike's math videos the most. His manner of speaking was very personable, which helps when you are studying for what seems like the biggest test of your life! His way of explaining things was very clear. The AWA component was helpful, but I needed more help so I borrowed a Kaplan big book (sorry!) to prep for the AWA section.

Improve on silly mistakes in verbal.

The video explanations of each problem were extremely helpful! I also took advantage of the vocab app. Magoosh helped increase my score by 6 points! I am extremely happy with the results. I will always be grateful for Magoosh' s one month study plan.

Good amount of practice questions.

I didn't know a lot of the math tricks required for solving some types of questions quickly: I found the GRE lesson videos and practice problems extremely helpful for this.

I really needed stats help for the quantitative session and lots of verbal practice. The flashcard app was especially helpful and I noticed tons of the vocabulary showing up in the passages and questions. Having done so many practice sets made me feel really confident going into my test day. Magoosh definitely helped me get my timing down right and decide how to attack each problem.

Access to a large number of problems and video explanations was incredibly helpful. Also the ability to set up simulated section - sized quizzes made studying easy.

The Magoosh videos, practice questions, and study plans were amazing resources. I couldn't afford expensive test prep, so this was a great, inexpensive alternative. I also experience a lot of test anxiety, but I gained a lot of confidence with the (seemingly) never-ending supply of practice questions.

I did almost all the practice problems and lesson videos. They were ridiculously helpful and felt very close to the real test. The explanation videos were great too and I never came away from a problem not understanding it. It was easy to mark problems I wanted to revisit and keep track of what areas I needed to focus on.

Verbal section was amazing. However, the math section was not of great help to me, as the levels of easiness/difficulty weren't exactly like the actual gre.

Lots of high quality practice problems. Good video explanations. I did not use the lessons much, but they were helpful when I did.

Verbal mostly

Provided readily accessible study materials that enabled me to study in spite of a hectic work schedule.

The 90 Day Study Plan kept me on track to reach my goal of at least a 320. My first practice test I scored a 314 (157 Quant 157 Verbal), and I was able to improve by 18 points!

The explanation on every single question made by Chris is very helpful, I can get immediate response on the thinking process. Over and over again, you get improved before you realize.
