You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The video explanations of problem solving techniques, as well as overall test taking techniques really brought the material to life and made it more memorable than reading static words on a page. Also, the ability to easily combine different question types (e.g. algebra, geometry, probability, etc.) into one problem set is a great strength of Magoosh in comparison to written material. This made me much more comfortable with the way the actual GRE delivered questions in the Quantitative Reasoning sections.

The video lessons were very detailed and a great way to review challenging concepts. I also appreciated the detailed explanations and abundant practice questions.

I had no clue how to begin my preparation. Magoosh provided me the initial momentum to get into the game. I loved the web interface--it was extremely user friendly. The pool of questions was quite challenging, and the blog is a wonderful place to learn more GRE strategies and tips and stay motivated for the exam. The practice problems were great to help expose me to a variety of test question formats and themes.

The strategies and videos were incredibly helpful. The utility of the site was very well crafted so that I could easily navigate around to best improve my studying.

-Immense help for someone who had no knowledge of the GRE.
-Recognizing time constraints.
-For someone who had limited time, it helped me set goals and a schedule that fit me personally, and the data of my weaknesses and strengths given the time constraints allowed me to study efficiently so as not to invest a disproportionate amount of time studying particular areas that would've seen very little benefit to my overall performance.

Greatly helpful, both in providing familiarity with format, question types, and timing, and, for the quantitative section, teaching me formulae and methodologies I had long since forgotten! A great product!

I came across Magoosh pretty late during the course of my prep but I am extremely glad that I did. I could not afford a very expensive class for myself as I was limited by my income. Magoosh differs from every other site that I came across in this aspect. It provided an open extensive set of resources that made a huge difference to my studying. I was very intimidated by Math. The various posts written by Chris as to how to overcome the same helped me immensely. I absolutely loved the Vocab Wednesdays. It made the otherwise hard and dull process of reading and memorizing words interesting and easy. The number of resources that Magoosh has promoted using the blog has also helped me a lot. From Rachel's list of sites with good music to Chris's suggestions for using Quizlet and other sources for Verbal led to an easier process of studying. But this is not all. I love the fact that Magoosh does not stop with advice on GRE and extends to an entire process of application, the post- GRE phase. For a person from India, with very little knowledge on the criteria for admissions to various schools, I found posts regarding the minimum requirements by Parikh to various schools relevant. I am pretty bad with names so I was able to mention only the three names above, but I followed most of your blog posts and I would like to thank all of them who have been instrumental in putting the set of resources together to keep the blog so active. Amazing product. Math videos give step by step instructions. Verbal breaks down questions and helps you find the right answers even if you are unsure of all the definitions. I only had 3 weeks to study and have not been in a math class in over 10 years.

I used magoosh to top off my preparation over the last three weeks before I gave the gre. I have 12 years of work experience and am far removed from using algebra and the nonsensical GRE math in real life. The practice and videos were invaluable. Using an online program is so different than how I studied when I was in college and first took the GREs years ago. I was a bit skeptical of Magoosh at the beginning, but now I would recommend it, especially to "older" people like me who didn't have this technology available to them in the past.

This is my 3rd time taking the test (1st time: 155VR/150QR).

Magoosh really helped me out with my math score. You taught me many easy-to-understand/remember formulas that were very useful on the test. With regards to my verbal score, I've been living in Japan for the past year and I was really worried that it would decrease. It actually increased! Even though I had trouble recalling words, the strategies taught helped me approach the answer choices much better than before. I was able to formulate my own words before looking at the answer choices (so helpful!) and I was also able to make better-educated guesses/eliminations.

I absolutely loved the Magoosh GRE experience. The videos made test prep a lot easier, and I was able to practice in actual test conditions. The video explanations for each answer were excellent.

This product was really great! Thank you SO much. Honestly it greatly improved my score. I took a practice GRE about three months before the actual test and only got in the 30th percentile in math and I think the 50 or 60th for Verbal but after using Magoosh and some of the resources Magoosh actually recommended to me (Manhattan, Quizlet, and Wordnik), I got in the 74th percentile for Math and the 95th for Verbal. Awesome!

Magoosh is outstanding!!!. I was really trying hard to improve my verbal score and found a great tutor, Chris Lele, in helping me to crack it. Chris has super talent of explaining verbal reasoning in lucid manner. When I started preparing, I set a goal of around 150-154 (realistic one!!!). I scored 158 which is beyond my initial expectations. Magoosh's materials helped me greatly in achieving this. I got lower score on Quant, I should blame only myself for wasting my time in solving toughest question and then running out of time!.

Chris's verbal video lessons are must for GRE aspirants. As Magoosh suggest, I would also recommend taking Manhatten GRE's 6 practice tests as they are the closest to actual GRE test.

I must say that Magoosh's email response for my questions is quick and resourceful. Thank you for all the help and I really admire your passion in teaching.

It gave me immense practice. Though I didn't have time to go through all the videos, whichever I went through were extremely helpful. Verbal practice questions helped me a lot.

Extremely well-done videos and coverage of all possible question types that are actually on the exam. I've been out of undergraduate studies for 4 years, and needed this to succeed on the GRE.

Magoosh GRE's sophistication and depth really make it stand out from a lot of other GRE prep products. The sheer volume of practice questions, explanatory videos for each question, and lessons on pretty much every major topic covered by the GRE mean a much higher chance of maximizing one's score when compared to other test prep companies.

Through studious use of the math lessons and practice problems I managed to score a 151. Though not a great score by most standards, it's great for someone who has not taken a math class in eight years. Plus, in that last class I took I scored a very low grade.

I actually learned through this program that I've come to a point in my life where I enjoy math. It that way, it was very eye opening and helpful.

The simple user interface is apt and interactive. It helps you to start off immediately with the questions, and look into the explanations or the related videos if necessary. The analysis that comes is the best part as the various filters help you to know your strengths and weakness easily and track your progress easily.

The ability to ask questions via email was great. The study schedules and the categorization of the videos helped me get organized and stay focused. I felt like the Magoosh team kept a positive and understanding attitude when it came to answering questions and video tutorials, which helped me keep a good attitude!

Its very hard for me to study just reading out of a book. One of the reasons I purchased your program was because of the video lessons. They were perfect. Short and very detailed which helped to keep my attention. I also loved the practice problems it was almost exactly like the actual GRE setup. It helped me get used to the flow of answering the questions and using the on screen calculator. I liked the practice vs the quiz questions. I was so prepared for the flow of the the test when I arrived which really helped me out. It took away some of the anxiety of taking the test. I really loved your program.

As an international student and never having heard of the GRE it was an unbelievable challenge. Having not been required to take any math or english courses as a marine science student it seemed quite unfair to be asked to take such a test that has no relevance to my line of specialization. I had already proven myself at undergraduate level but taking the GRE was a real challenge for me as math and english are not my strong suits so it was very worrying as it has a huge effect on whether I would gain entry to graduate school.
