You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

I've used a lot of different GRE prep materials (Kaplan, Manhattan, McGraw-Hill, etc.) and Magoosh stands out to me as being the most helpful. The user interface on the website is top-notch and there are several features that make the studying process easy. The conceptual outline that the lessons provide, the video explanations for each problem, and the links to relevant lessons in problems are just a few examples. The content is also great for preparing for the actual test. Verbal questions were at about the same difficulty level and the math questions were even more difficult, which made the actual test much easier.

Very please I met my personal goal to exceed 320 combined; actual 323 puts me in top 5% for desired program. Magoosh's GRE practice tests very successfully adapted me for the real deal: actual ETS experience - in particular the format, pacing & scope. Crucially, the lessons quickly & readily both identified my weaknesses, AND assisted my progress. The interface itself was pleasant, intuitive & super reliable. I heartily recommend Magoosh!

Provided me with great practice and some excellent tutorials on techniques I wasn't particularly familiar with.

It took one year to me to get this score. From my childhood onwards I hate reading and my word power is zero and my math is average. Magoosh helped me a lot in getting a good basic in english reading and word power. They gave good response and suggestions. I read all the 3500 words in barrons by using vocabulary.com. In addition to magoosh questions I practiced all the problems from manhattan set of books and grockit . I practiced almost 4000 math problems. To improve my reading capabilities I read The Atlantic,The new yorker magazine and the nytimes. The context in gre reading comprehensions are as same as these magazines

I mainly used Magoosh for the math section. I did a few problems from the English section, but in my opinion, the only way to prepare for the English section is to already be a well-read person. Magoosh's math videos were very helpful in explaining some concepts that I was a little rusty on. Also, it had videos on doing strange problems that would not be encountered in the real world, but are on the test, such as unit digit problems. Were it not for Magoosh, I would have gotten these problems wrong on the test, so I am glad I subscribed to Magoosh.

I liked the pacing feedback and detailed answers for each question.

I watched almost all the math lessons and used tons of practice questions (some verbal but mostly math). I also used the blog posts for advice on how to study and what score to aim for, etc. These were very helpful in staying calm and thinking through the experience in advance. Per the Magoosh advice, I used the ETS test prep book and the Manhattan Prep books along with the Magoosh lessons and practice questions and followed the 1 month study plan as best I was able. I thought the timed nature of the practice questions (the clock that runs for every question you do) was especially helpful to think about pacing my work overall. I was very pleased with the clarity of the videos and the stress on best strategies to use when tackling tricky questions.

Magoosh was exceptionally important and useful to my exam preparation. Even though I already have several graduate degrees, I found myself in the unenviable position of having to take the GRE (for the first time, I might add) to pursue a specialist degree. Let's just say my undergrad years are a few decades in the rear view mirror, so much of the knowledge needed to do well on the exam was anything but fresh. I realized I needed some way of efficiently reviewing, especially for the quantitative section, since I could barely do any of the problems! However, the instructional videos were fabulous for this compressed review, and after working through several hundred problems in both areas, I became far more comfortable with the material. I am very satisfied that I ended up in the top quartile in both math and verbal, easily surpassing the scores needed for the program I want. I truly feel I was able to accomplish this because of Magoosh. The product was easy to use, comprehensive, and was more accurate at predicting my final scres than the ETS sample exams. I have already recommended Magoosh to two people who have the GRE in their future. Thanks!

It was my first time taking the GRE; I'm applying the graduate program that mainly looks at the quant part of the GRE so my goal was to get 170 on math. The math part of Magoosh is harder than the problems I did in ETS GRE PowerPrep, and it also gives great lectures through video; both of the problem sets and the videos helped me a lot on consolidating my math knowledge and forming the habit for problem solving that fits better for taking the GRE math specifically (e.g. avoid using the calculator and make reasonable guesses; I'm a math major thus this was not familiar to me, but works better for the GRE math).

Magoosh provided me a layout for my program. I used the 3 month plan and made some changes in the resources which I supposed to read. I knew math was not a big challenge for me, actually now I realized I underestimated it, so I wanted to raise my Verbal score. As a non-native English speaker, who speaks Farsi and Azerbaijani as the native language, I face many challenges to increase my score in Verbal. I covered Verbal Advantage and 1100 a year ago, so I moved to cover Magoosh words and Barrons' new list ( as in their 20th Edition book ) in the 3 month period. Also, I used magoosh question directory to practice. I also practiced all Big Book's question and I should say it is the most similar question to real exam. I also did only Magoosh's math question and every time I made mistakes, it was over Monday details. Those kind of mistakes was the reason to get 163 and not 170.

Overall, my real exam scores were similar to what I got in Magoosh tests. Magoosh Questions are very close to exam's. I totally recommend it for GRE-takers.

Magoosh helped me achieve a score sufficient for my preferred graduate program (MBA). I tried other test prep companies before and even a tutor, but the videos and set of practice questions on Magoosh were substantial better despite the much lower price. I would highly recommend Magoosh over other options, regardless of your time or budget.

I would contribute a large part of my score to the help I got from Magoosh. The questions that I solved here were actually a replica of the actual GRE questions. In addition, the interface that you get here while practicing questions is pretty much the same as that of GRE and that prepares you for the D-day. While practicing, I got used to solving questions within certain timeframe and it really helped me pace up or down during the actual GRE. The score predictor shows you your strength and weakness so that you can improve your weak area and the video explanations, especially for questions from verbal reasoning section, are just awesome and helps you think in a certain way, necessary to crack those questions well within time.

Magoosh helped me drill the material I was having the most trouble with.

Magoosh improved my verbal score- especially the videos on RC and Paragraph argument.These were areas that i was not confident about while answering my previous GRE test.My pace on verbal sections also significantly improved, and though i got 3 verbal sections which were difficult,i never ran out of time on each and was able to comfortably attempt all the question.On the quant side, several handy tips and tricks really made confident while answering the questions.

The question explanation videos, some of the video lessons, and the abundance of practice questions including the practice test compilations led me to success -- thank you!

Magoosh excelled on many levels:
1. Videos covered ALL aspects of the exam. There were no surprises on test day.
2. The videos themselves were a perfect combination of comprehensive and succinct.
3. The study plan was appropriate for the time length available.
4. Support was prompt and informative. I never felt alone in the process. I especially appreciated the e-mail during test-week.
5. The score predictor was spot on!

Ultimately I would advise anyone against trying to take the exam WITHOUT Magoosh. Text books fall flat - in person courses dilute the learning. Everything in the books is covered (oh..and the GRE book IS part of the study plan) with clear explanation.

I was originally shooting for a 320 and with the help of Magoosh came in at 326. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The study plans looked great, but I didn't end up using them. I did watch every single video & found them informative and fantastic for relearning math that i haven't touched in a decade and a half. I used the Vocab flash card app, which was fun, but it turns out the actual GRE only had a small handful of words I did not know previously. A few days before my exam I did one of the Magoosh practice tests and then also the PowerPrep practice test. Super useful plan. Also loved the personal answers to my questions with a 1day turn-around time.

The practice questions were very similar to the actual GRE and prepared me well. The fact that the lesson videos were linked to the practice questions meant that I could easily find and learn any unfamiliar content that came up in a practice question.

1. Math lesson videos and blogs gave me tips to good shortcuts. It also helped me learned important stuff that I don't remember ever learning in school, such as properties of even and odd numbers.

2. Verbal lesson videos were very helpful. Helped me get the right mindset of looking for clues and finding the vocabulary terms that best fit the sentence.

3. Writing lesson videos helped me manage my time of completing my essay on time. If it wasn't for those tips, I probably would have spent too much time on the intro and, thus, fail to develop my body paragraphs.

4. Help feature was very useful! I get a response to my question the very next day!

I haven't had to wrestle with math in almost 30 years, so taking the GRE was intimidating. I was able to bring my rusty math skills up to an acceptable level with 30 days of intensive study. Magoosh enabled me to hit the ground running and pick a study plan that fit the amount of time I had left. I did better in math than I had thought possible.

Prior to starting my revision for the GRE, I only had faint memories of what I learned in high school for math. The practice questions and especially the video lessons were a tremendous help in getting me up to speed. The difficulty of the hard and very hard questions also surpassed that of the actual GRE so I felt that it gave me more than adequate preparation to ace the test.

I read a lots of materials from New York Times with a few specific writers recommended by Magosh. Those materials did help my reading comprehension improved.
For math, I completed 500 provided questions, which I believe fine tune my math skills for 170.
