You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Magoosh provided lots of practice questions and the answers explored different approaches to solving problems. The videos made it possible to review all the material in-depth in a short period of time.

Magoosh provided questions of high quality without wasting time on simple ones. Magoosh's math lesson videos are excellent. It can guide students at various levels to think about problems along multiple orientations.

I'm not great at self-studying, so I knew from the start that I needed some sort of structured study method. But, I wasn't thrilled about the idea of taking/paying for a full set of classes which I did years ago to prepare for the SAT. When a friend recommended Magoosh, I checked it out. There was a 4-week, daily study plan which was perfect for me. I just followed the plan, studied intensively for a few hours each day, and I felt super confident going into the test. It was my first time taking it, and I am so happy with my score. Before I started the study plan four weeks ago, I knew absolutely nothing about the GRE, and now I feel like a GRE-pro.

Best parts: lots of practice problems, video explanations for practice problem answers, great lesson videos, good balance between the Official Guide and the online lessons, vocab app, excellent organization all-around, helpful tips in lesson videos (i.e. "this will only show up in advanced sections," or "the GRE loves these types of questions," or "this is tricky for most students," etc.)

Great summary of all the relevant material, allowed me to get a good score with just one week of studying. Also very clear explanation videos, and tons of practice questions that resemble the level at the GRE.

All the problems are GRE like/quality. That helped a lot

I used Magoosh to prepare for the quantative part of GRE. I didn't do a lot of math in the last 10 years and felt very insecure.

I found the videos very useful: there are a lot of math tutorials out there, but the Magoosh ones are specifically focused on what's asked in GRE. I used the shortcuts and tips given in these videos during the actual test.

The practice secion of the site is great: it gives you an opportunity to work in an environment similar to the actual GRE - you don't just practice your math skills, but also learn to prioritize and budget your time (very important for getting a good score on GRE!). It also provides a lot of flexibility - you can work in timed or untimed mode, practice specific concepts, review the problems you solved wrong, etc.

Overall - great value for the money and very positive experience of using the site! Thank you, tutors and developers!

Magus helped me immensely, particularly as a refresher on certain math subjects. I could choose which lessons to focus on knowing what my weaknesses were. The practice questions and practice tests were very helpful in getting me back into "test-taking" mode and being familiar with the types of questions that are asked and how to answer them most efficiently. The phone apps were helpful in being able to study during a commute, and the options of video and text explanations for each questions supports different kinds of learners.

All information at one place. Good exercises with really good explanations.

Yeah, I think the part of text completion and sentence equivalence is pretty good, however the long reading passage seems a little hard for me. I really appreciate the help I have receieved from Magoosh

Magoosh helped me boost my score in verbal

Magoosh helped by focusing on clear strategies and the content that the GRE tests. The lessons really helped me with time-saving strategies. The practice tool is an amazing resource, especially with the adaptive feature! I thought it simulated the test very well, which had me better prepared for when questions suddenly got harder.
Before Magoosh, I just kept answering practice questions from the ETS practice material. This was not helpful because there was no guidance on what to study, leaving me feeling lost.
With Magoosh's preparation there were no surprises and the test seemed much less daunting than before.

A combination of the large library of challenge questions and excellent and approachable video lessons helped me strengthen several areas and improve my score.

The information was presented very clearly and concisely. I was able to see what information I wasn't fully understanding and was given the resources to learn it in a different way.

I found Magoosh very helpful overall. Specifically, the math content was excellent. My regret on test day was not using mental math enough and using the calculator too often. I was unable to finish the very last math problem on test day due to this. The problem was simple, I just ran out of time. I may have received an extra math point or two (or three) if I had finished that problem.

I enjoy the video lessons on reading comprehension.

I actually did take the GRE once before and did fine on it. That was in 1988. I've had plenty of opportunity to forget everything, especially math. Magoosh was a treasure of great information and sympathetic practical advice in a format that was accessible to someone trying to take classes and work full time. The sense that people like me were part of the target audience was also crucial in helping to build confidence for the test. Additionally, I don't know what Chris and Mike are like in person (or if they even really exist ;-) but their videos were both humorous and instructive. Finally, the practice questions were spot on. Concepts and useful strategies

I had only 10 days to prepare for GRE. And this was my first attempt. If it weren't for Magoosh, preparing in this much time wouldn't have been possible. The lectures are superb. The practice questions are great. Everything was great. In fact i took one magoosh practice test 2 days before my actual GRE and got exactly the same total on the actual GRE.

practice, practice, practice! just being able to do as many questions as possible. the video explanations were great as well.
