You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Magoosh categorizes problems wonderfully. For instance, it tells you exactly how to deal with problems regarding divisors of an integer, how to handle polynomial expressions under radicals, and counting problems under various conditions. This allows you to practice and understand each problem type thoroughly so that you can develop your own shortcuts to solving particular problem types and understand your most common mistakes when solving said problem type. Magoosh helped by giving me the means to break the test down into smaller subgroups.

Magoosh was great. Working 80+ hours per week in investment banking and studying for the GRE is not a recipe for success. Magoosh helped work around my schedule and provided all of the necessary material and resources to perform well on the exam. I also used the Magoosh tutoring service. Jen was fantastic and I’d recommend both Jen and Magoosh to anyone who is taking graduate school exams. Far cheaper than alternatives and very flexible.

I loved the video explanations, and presenting different ways to answer a question. Gave me a lot of handy mah strategies too.

I could not have finished many of the math questions. Had I had more time, I would have practiced time management more. If I do the GRE again, that is what I will Practise.

Math tips were great!

It was helpful in that I was able to cover a very high volume of practice material, relative to what I got from ETS. Any concepts I was hazy on were clearly explained in Lesson and Problem Explanation videos. I also found the vocabulary flashcards very helpful.

The practice material was very challenging–more so than what ETS uses in their practice material and on the exam. For that reason, I felt very confident about my ability to answer questions on exam day. However, even though Magoosh's practice questions are relatively difficult, I find they very accurately represent the style of questions and the material that the GRE presented me with.

The video courses thoroughly went over every single concept that the GRE covers. Videos for the quantitative section are particularly helpful.

Magoosh was invaluable in helping me study for the GRE. The videos broke down math concepts that I had forgotten and the practice tests helped simulate a real test setting.

I did about 100 of the 600 available math questions and about 50 of the English ones, and watched about 1 hour total of videos, and my total score literally improved by 11 points in 1 month.

Helped immensely with math. Even my average score would’ve been unattainable without the program.

Magoosh has a range of mobile apps that make revision easier. I, especially recommend their word card app. The cards are brilliant, in terms of design and the choice of words! On top of that, I used Magoosh Online Test Prep Services for GRE and TOEFL prep. The videos are to the point and quite frankly, awesome. I love the solutions provided for the questions asked in the ETS book. (Test prep tip: Do go through them). Also, having sought further help with questions on the Magoosh website and other questions in the Official ETS Guide, I know that the instructors are really good at what they do. I couldn't have scored 331/340 (170Q, 161V) in GRE without their help.

The questions were the most similar to the exam that I saw (in difficulty) and I loved the app and explainations on the questions! Great value :-)

The biggest advantage of Magoosh was the computer aspect. It sounds silly, but taking a test in a computer feels different than a paper test, and preparing with Magooshs software helped in that regard.

The videos for verbal section are pretty helpful. I like the math practice problems which are adequately challenging and similar to actual GRE problems.

It provided a plethora of great practice questions that inculcated in me the skills I needed for each section. It helped me feel very prepared on test day.
