You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Practice problems!

Magoosh's math questions were a good simulation of the type and difficulty on the actual GRE. Additionally, the video lectures taught me fundamentals of math that I had never encountered or had previously foegotten. Overall, quite helpful.

Magoosh made my studying much more organized and efficient. It also taught me valuable test taking tricks that I then didn’t have to figure out for myself.

Magoosh was the greatest resource I had at my disposal when preparing for the GRE. I watched a number of math videos, studied the whole list of vocabulary words, and took multiple practice tests, and I can now confidently say that Magoosh helped me reach above the score that I expected on the exam. I have nothing but words of praise for this organization.

Lessons helped to review basic concepts.

Being able to flag specific questions and review questions missed was critical for obtaining a higher score.

I am in immense debt to Mike McGarry's thoughtful, well-paced teaching methods. I've never had such fun learning math. Even though his videos aren't personalized, I felt as though he was invested in my abilities and cared about me as a student. Maybe it's just because I've had arguably cold and indifferent math teachers, but I realized with Magoosh's approach to math, encouragement goes much farther to help a student learn math than negative reinforcement does.

Great practice, questions were usually harder than the actual test’s

Magoosh questions are extremely similar to the questions on the actual GRE. I didn’t see any questions on the GRE that Magoosh hadn’t prepared me for.

Combo of video and written explanation of videos was really conducive to learning.

It gave me exposure to a lot of different problems and problem solving techniques that I would not have considered before.

Really saw a huge improvement with my math abilities from the time I started studying to when I took the test.

Study guides helped give prep structure, videos helped me learn the mind of the test

Gave me tons of problems to do (primarily the verbal section though, I was very confident for quant going in) and lots of videos on how to solve verbal questions/write the essay components. AND FLASHCARDS. It was awesome to have them in a mobile app so I always had them with me.

Refresher on things I haven’t seen since high school

The whole set-up of Magoosh is great. Having quizzes after each section helped gauge how I was progressing and having full practice tests was helpful to train for the length of the test.
