You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

The optional books and problems in the 90 Day advanced study plan from the Magoosh blog and the practice questions Magoosh online course prepared me and made me more comfortable with the GRE questions.

Because I was focused on trying to bring up my quantitative score, I tried to focus on those lessons and practice the most. I actually feel that I have learned more from Magoosh than I have in previous endeavors in math including the books I had used to prepare for the GRE in the past. I feel that Magoosh' focus on "number sense" was right on the money - I lack number sense and so I feel that I built it up in myself so that by the time I took the GRE I was able to recognize patterns that I never could have before. Although I did not bring my grade up this time I really feel like I learned more than ever before - I also had a lot going on during the month I was planning to study including my husband having ACL surgery and being in the hospital myself, so I definitely did not study as much as I could have. I am planning to continue using Magoosh and probably will retake the test in 2-3 months in the hopes of improving my quant score. My quant score is one thing holding me back from a guaranteed acceptance into veterinary school so I will keep trying. I think Magoosh is so great! Video lessons are incredibly helpful and I think the explanations are so thorough.

It was a good way to refresh math skills I hadn't even thought about in years.

I used Magoosh vocab app and verbal practice a lot. Great practice. Verbal is a little more difficult than actual test that makes sure you are absolutely prepared. The instruction for writing is also helpful.

With timing and just so many resources! The videos were entertaining and engaging, and there were many avenues for engagement and seeking further help and providing feedback.

Structured study schedule

The brainstorming ideas for the written section were probably the most helpful. The difficulty of the math section also prepared me well for the quant section of the actual test. Magoosh was a much more affordable and flexible option than most of the prep courses out there.
