You, Our Next Thriving Student?

I purchased a couple Manhattan Prep books, ETS's Official Guide, different phone apps, etc. yet I ended up using Magoosh's online application almost exclusively. I work full time and was only able to study after work and weekends. I was exhausted most nights after work before I even sat down to study... without the structure that Magoosh provides I would not have been able to be nearly as effective. I did not want to take the test more than once and my target was a 330. I scored a 331; what else can I say? Magoosh was literally a fraction of the price of the other paid resources. It has everything you need, trust me.

Magoosh helped keep me on track, at a much lower price point than other test prep systems. I followed the one-month plan, and was happy to do small pieces of prep each day. While I couldn't keep up the pace with a full-time job (as the guide warned me), I still believe Magoosh helped me a lot. I learned general strategies (number sense, not looking at the verbal answers without my own answer), a sense for timing, and most importantly, I always had a plan to follow so I couldn't second-guess myself.

Through Magoosh's huge and comprehensive practice question set, I was able to identify some of the Math areas that I needed to revisit and that helped me focus my studies in an effective and efficient manner. The explanation was very clear and I believe that it targets students at all levels equally well. Mike's knowledge and test experience is readily apparent especially when he provides strategies for tackling various question types. I believe the most beneficial outcome I gained from using Magoosh was learning how to approach each question type and what specific steps I need to take. This is very important.

I loved the fact that you can speedup video playback in the lessons and that a transcript is provided as well so that students can go through lessons at a faster pace if they wanted to.

Chris's enthusiasm changed my outlook of the Verbal section. I was dreading that I have to study for it, but halfway through the lessons, I actually started enjoying and appreciating the challenge. He demystified the various type of questions in a logical and easy to follow way.

The time frame for my preparation is 35 days.First 15 days ,I learnt words from magoosh vocabulary flashcards and(I don't have prior knowledge of GRE words).Next 20 days I did watch all the lessons magoosh had to offer and completed the practice questions(quant + verbal).So for me,the preparation and practice tests had to be done inside last 20 days and I did.Given my limited time frame,I'm overwhelmed by the score I received (329),which is very well above my target score(320).

It is extremely helpful. questions of the actual test are almost similar to those of magoosh mock tests. without its help, i would not have crossed 320.

I practiced a lot before the test and when I took the real GRE, I did not feel nervous anymore. Magoosh has a lot of good GRE questions and helped me get used to think in the GRE way.

Magoosh videos are very concise. In a short period of time, I learned and reviewed a lot of concepts from many different areas. Magoosh has done a really great job in covering exactly what students need.

Magoosh was the ultimate learning experience! All along those intense 3.5 weeks, that I was studying for my re-take, I was thinking if I had come across them before, I could have saved many months... Before Magoosh I finished 5 test preparation books (including 3 official ETS guides) and none did such a good job in the preparation as Magoosh. Here the concepts were discussed in detail, they offered many shortcuts to specific types of questions, talked about how to think to beat the test and above all, offered almost a thousand well designed practice questions. I think the books I used just did not have enough hard questions so that when I was facing them on the test, I lost a lot of time trying to figure out the solution. With Magoosh, even though I only studied for less then a month, I felt well prepared before the test day, ready to take the challenge, and so the stress I experienced was much less then on my first take. I can only praise Magoosh on and on and on... as their explanations, videos and test materials are all superb, fun and challenging! A big big thank you for all the team!

The one thing that really helped was when the guy teaching the English section said was, "all the GRE is about is definitions." That really opened my eyes. In the past, I would convince myself that all the words in a question set were basically the same. Part of my problem was that my vocabulary was not good enough, but the bigger problem was that I thought the verbal section was my subjective than it really was. Thanks for opening my eyes! Also, even though I don't have my writing scores back yet. I'm sure I did loads better. One thing that really helped me was when your Verbal section guy said, "write ONE sentence for the introduction otherwise you might catch 'perfect-sentence-syndrome.'" He's absolutely right. Genius!

Wow.. Magoosh the Generous!!!

I am currently working in a top MNC and my work keeps me so much occupied and many a times i was not able to study for couple of weeks in a row and when my account was about to get expired magoosh generously gave me an extension for more than a month which helped me so much in getting the right preparation.

The Lessons are perfectly made and also the difficulty of questions. I would recommend it very strongly for all the GRE aspirants.

No Matter how weak u think u are in Verbal or in Quant u can surely improve it in a great way with magoosh account. I would say get the 6 month account and u will have all the advantage.

Myself when took GRE for first time scored 301(V143,Q158) and with the help of magoosh i could improve it to 318(V151,Q167). A 17 point increase. Very Thankful to the MAgoosh Team. Their Free Vocab Cards are best as well.

P.S Trust i was easily able to study from magoosh even when i was very much occupied by my Job(like 12-14 hours a day).

The videos of both the verbal & math section were very helpful as they covered every aspect of the GRE syllabus.

Magoosh really helped me to get my basics right. The degree of difficulty of the questions were higher than that of GRE, this helped me in tacking the exam questions with ease. The support provided by them is excellent and reply to queries were pretty quick.

Magoosh made all of the information extremely accessible. The video explanations were really helpful in understanding and correcting my mistakes. Magoosh was an absolute lifesaver! I've already recommended it to a friend.

I wanted to retake the GRE to make my scores more competitive for PhD school admissions. Being a Mathematics undergrad, the math section was not particularly difficult for me (166), but I did suffer a bit on my verbal score (155). In looking for test prep, I wanted something that was as close to the real thing as possible - and no book or paper practice test could give me that.

Magoosh appealed to me in that they offered computer adaptive tests - perhaps as close to the real thing as I could get! I was unexpectedly surprised with how easy the lessons were to follow on. Though my focus was on verbal, I still put a bit of time practicing math questions as well.

Truthfully, I had only begun to study one month out, whereas most study plans recommended a much longer period of studying prior to sitting the exam. So, my target score was a 159 or higher for verbal - a modest increase, but enough to get me above the 80th percentile rank. I was pleasantly surprised to see my score jump to 161 - a whole six points in one subject alone! And to top it off, even my math score jumped up a point.

In the end, I believe that the best way to study for a test is to practice in environments as closed to the test-day environment as possible, and in that trait alone Magoosh far surpasses other test prep I have used previously. Now having an 87th percentile rank verbal score, rather than the 67th percentile rank from before, I definitely have more confidence in preparing my admission materials.

I am not that afraid of GRE with magoosh.

Magoosh proved to be a great motivator for my preparation.I found verbal section very complex and arcane but magoosh made it simplified and easier.All the lesson videos ,practice questions, tests whether customised or predefined were extremely helpful and exam oriented.Though I am unsatisified with my math score still flashcards(vocab and math both) and questions were above par .Overall thanks to whole magoosh team especially Chris and Mike for constant support and encouragement throughout my preparation.

Initially, I had decided to prepare for the GRE test entirely on my own with no help from coaching or the various online preparation materials available. However, within a week or ten days of the commencement, frustration started to creep in and that is where I decided to go with Magoosh.
My decision couldn't have been a better one, Magoosh structured my preparation and made it much more productive. Both Mike and Chris are well versed in their trade of teaching and this fact is patent in the way they teach, making one feel that they can predict your mistakes even before you commit them!

I was comfortable with the Math section from the beginning as I had a background in mathematics but Mike's videos made my concepts more concrete and readily applicable for the test. Chris' video lessons helped me where I needed to work the most, that is Reading Comprehension which would have been a very tough nut to crack had I not opted for the Magoosh Premium Membership.

All in all, I studied for just under 8 weeks and quite fairly stuck with the '2-3 Months study plan', the Magoosh team has deviced. Apart from Magoosh I used the ETS Official Material and I was good to go. The question difficulty and structure on Magoosh is quite close to that on the actual test. Although, one might feel the Math level is a bit tougher but it is bound to work in one's advantage, come the test day.
PS- The Magoosh GRE Flashcards app is simply 'stuff of the legends', it can't get any better and deals with the one of the most pivotal aspects of the GRE Verbal section with immense perfection and lucidity.

Well, i went through all the video lessons, even for topics that i was already familiar with. Every video lesson always had something in store for me. may be some trick, tip or some sort of advice. The test material was really great too. I could clearly see where i was lacking, what went wrong in a particular question, the areas that required more attention or where was i taking more time that others. I could work on each and every weakness in a progressive manner and eventually overcame many of the hurdles that i was facing. the practice lessons and sample papers clearly helped me build up confidence.

The lessons were very helpful and insightful. The study plan was also very useful. I used the 1 month study plan but it took me 2 months to finish it between working full-time and caring for a baby. It was challenging but I'm really grateful for the propitious outcome.

I was pretty good at math- my score might not be a sound proof of that, silly mistakes were my undoing in this section. I wanted to score 160+ in verbal, but I wasn't able to find enough test-like practice material. Magoosh's blog had already warned me against using kaplan, princeton etc. I decided to try out Magoosh (Thank god I did!) and I believe it was worth every penny. Chris' videos were insightful and helped me tackle the difficult verbal questions. Everything, ranging from quality of questions to the support provided, was just impeccable. Thanks a lot for helping me achieve my targeted verbal score.

Choosing Magoosh was one of the best decision I have ever made! It has superb video lessons and plannings for the GRE preparation. Practice questions with a specified difficulty level helps to understand the shape of the real GRE questions. In addition, to me, the best part was the Magoosh Blogs. Lots of people shared their GRE prep planning and test experience there. I don't remember a single day I had slept without reading their experiences and helpful tips during my preparation days. I checked my mail today and completely surprised to see that I had contacted Magoosh 2 to 3 times per day on average. And every time I was satisfied with the answers and directions. Specially Rachel, Adam, Matt, Sarah and Jessica were too helpful and gave clear cut directions. They are the best! Definitely, I LOVE MAGOOSH :)

Being a non-native English speaker, I didn't have the strongest of verbal skills. The techniques that were introduced in the Magoosh video lessons enabled me to tackle the Verbal section in a much better way than I could have hoped for. Although I needed very little math prep because it was my strong suit, Magoosh lessons helped me revisit concepts that were beginning to fade. The video explanations to practice questions were comprehensive, and the question pool was diverse and on par with my experience in the actual GRE. Thanks for the awesome experience I had!!
